Darlene Stafford, 71, went peacefully to rest in the Lord on November 9, 2017. She was born April 16, 1946 in McMinneville, OR. Following high school, she attended beauty school where she met her best friend Judy. Judy introduced her to a handsome sailor, her uncle Charles. Charlie and Darlene married in 1968. They lived in South Dakota, moved to Wyoming and Oregon, until they settled in Southern California in 1978. To their pleasant surprise they had their first daughter Susan, followed by Christy in 1981. As well as working as a beautician for many years, Darlene worked as the church secretary at her home church, First Baptist of Los Alamitos. She was known for her extensive collection of everything fawns and her vintage Pyrex, and loved adding to her friends collections. Darlene also had her signature recipes, especially her carrot cake, which she didn't like herself and never ate, but put a lot of love and effort into making, much to everyone's delight. Darlene is survived by her handsome sailor, Charles Stafford, brother Donald Ditto (Cindy), sister Carol Carter, and miracle babies Susan Loomis and Christine Stafford. Darlene is grandma Darlin' to Kylie Galletti (Chris) and Madeleine Loomis, and great grandma Darlin' to Sofie and Emma Galletti. A memorial service will be on Saturday November 18 at 2pm, at the First Baptist Church of Los Alamitos, 4000 Green Ave, Los Alamitos, followed by a potluck serving several of Darlene's mouth watering recipes.
