July 20, 1955 - October 27, 2017
Born in Long Beach, CA
Resided in San Pedro, CA
Franks first day at 7thSt School was rough, and presented him with having to learn English. However, it instilled in him a lifelong love of languages. Italian, Croatian, Spanish, Persian, Tagalog, and Chinese, he learned from those around him and spoke flawlessly.
Frank put himself through CSULB and Chiropractic College working at Star Kist, Marie Callender’s, playing bass for “Jadran” and Rockwell as a design engineer for the Space Shuttle Orbiter Division in Downey.
In 1983 he met Rori (Brucato). They married and started Frank’s private practice. With his dad Bo now retired, father and son built out Frank’s office on Ninth and Gaffey. Neighbors, patients, and vendors increased their circle of friends. The practice grew, allowing for travel to Santa Fe, NM, and Chicago, his favorite long weekend destinations. On a typical day, their big dog, Glodine, would be with them at the office, watching over all from the lab.
Success for Frank was providing for his friends and family. Preschool, shoes, swim lessons, and “pancakes for dinner” were his favorite gifts for the kids. In appreciation for all their help, he and Rori sent Franks parents on their dream vacation back to Croatia.
Parties and holidays brought Frank joy. As did his mom’s mostaccioli, Sunday breakfast with Nonno, making cookies and sauce with the LoGrande’s and Maurizi’s and Christmas Eve dinner.
Frank loved to work on Rori’s Las Candalistas projects and was delighted to park cars, bake quiches, stack pallets, and tote bales with the rest of the guys. He also couldn’t wait for the next Alfa Romeo road rally and picnic. He made lifelong friends who in addition to Rori, Tonka, Danny, Terry, Elliot, Joe and Mary are the angels who have stayed with him throughout. Drs. Del Vicario, Inadomi and Kaviani made Franks last decades possible.
Frank is survived by bride Rori, his mother Tonka, and sister Antoinette (Mike Lung).
A memorial service will be held Friday November 17, 2017 at 2pm in McNerney’s Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Las Candalistas and Mary Star of the Sea Elementary School.
