Vera, the Matriarch of our family and a lifetime San Pedro resident passed away on August 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Terminal Island, CA. to Pedro and Canuta Perez on June 5, 1921. She attended Barton Hill Elementary, Richard Henry Dana Jr. High and San Pedro High School. She was predeceased by her husband Paul L. Gonzales, her son, Paul L. Gonzales, Jr. and her brothers Mike and Frank Perez, sisters Julia Banda, Eulalia Bojorquez and Eleanor G. Torres. She is survived by her daughters Rachel (William) Viramontes, Dolores (Stan) Costa, Margaret (Carlos) Eyles and son Andrew (Annette) Gonzales, her grandchildren Nadine Sestich; William, Chris, Greg Viramontes; Victoria, Anthony, Richard Gonzales; Robert Nunez, Angie Gonzales; Steven, Albert Ybarra, Lara Gonzales and 30 great grandchildren and 17 great, great grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was an avid walker, active in Holy Trinity PTA, San Pedro Wednesday Club and the daily activities of parent, grandparent and caregiver. She was a very social person who loved cooking for her family, attending all sports games played by her children up to and including her great, great grandchildren but her favorite was her daily visit to In n Out Burger. She was an avid Dodger and Ram fan. She will truly be missed.
