On October 22, surrounded by his family, Dwight Lee Roberson, M.D., 71, peacefully passed away in his San Pedro home, after a short battle with cancer; He was a much loved husband, father and brother.

He and his family were former 30-year residents of Rancho Palos Verdes.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Esther Roberson, eldest son, Robert (wife Angela), youngest son, Paul, daughter, Danielle, plus his favorite dog, El Jefe.
He also leaves behind three sisters, Rhonda of Detroit, MI., Barbara (Eugene) of Sacramento and Dorez (Lee) Douglas of Los Angeles. He was preceded in death by both parents, Albert and Luana Roberson, two brothers, Albert Jr. (Edna) and Tony (Shirley). Born in Augusta, Georgia, Dwight graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a B.S. in pharmacy in 1971. However, he soon wanted to pursue more in the medical field and continued his education with the University of Michigan Medical School, graduating in 1975. Dwight went on to UC Irvine Medical school for his postgraduate work, and became Board certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1984. Soon after, Dwight began his private practice in the Long Beach area and was on staff at several of the surrounding medical centers, surgical centers and hospitals in the area. He practiced for over 35 years until he retired in 2016. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, practicing the piano, playing tennis, watching the Lakers, Dodgers and, of course, his beloved Wolverines.
He will be remembered for his kind heart and gentle nature.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 5:30 pm at McNerney’s Mortuary 570 W 5th St., San Pedro, Ca. A Celebration of Life to follow at The Plaza at Cabrillo Marina 2965 Via Cabrillo-Marina, San Pedro, Ca.
