Obituary

Ronald Anthony Donner was born in Washington DC on May 31, 1947 and passed peacefully on August 10, 2020 in Apple Valley, CA. As a young child, Ron survived Bulbar Polio after being given three days to live and overcame the effects to lead a full, active life and become an accomplished athlete in baseball, tennis, golf, swimming, and surfing. He loved spending time with family and friends hunting, fishing, and boating.
Ron attended the University of Oregon and later graduated the Naval School of Health Science. After proudly serving years in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman First Class, Ron retired and went on to complete his LVN training. He dedicated the remainder of his life caring for his patient Irwan and built a bond of friendship over those years.
Ron is preceded in death by his father, Matthew Anthony Topol; mother, Irene Donner; stepfather, Jerry Donner; and brothers Robert and Mark Donner. He leaves behind sisters Christine (Tom) McNerney and Victoria (Dominic) Abbatiello; brother Roger (Marianna) Donner; and sister-in-law Loretta Donner; along with many nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Jeff) Noviello; Tom (Johnna) McNerney, Jr.; Rachael (Donald) Lewis; Robert (Natasha Kalani) McNerney; Franca (Jared) Rosengren; Matthew (Kara) Donner; Douglas Donner; Madeline Donner and Jake Donner; and great nieces and nephews Summer, Shane, Carly, Naych, Jace, Miles, Scata, Enzlo, and Jaxson.
His radiant and infectious smile will be missed by his family and friend Annette, along with many other friends, fellow nurses, and patients.
Private family services will be held.
