Tommaso Angelo Damanti was born May 6, 1979. He had just celebrated his 41st birthday at the beginning of May, and unexpectedly passed away the morning of May 30, 2020, at his home in Long Beach, which he shared with long time, committed girlfriend Gloria Guzman. Tommaso, commonly known as “Tom” was born in San Pedro, CA to loving parents Angelo and Giovanna Damanti, where he was raised with his older sisters Giuseppina Domicolo (wife of Angelo Domicolo) and Lucia Ibelle (wife of Robert Ibelle). He went onto graduate from San Pedro High School, and was a lifelong active member in the community, such as volunteering his time at numerous voting polls locally and nationally. Tom was a kindhearted, friendly soul, as well as an intellectual mind. He was always there to lend a helping hand or a compassionate ear. He was a conversationalist, with the ability to hold conversations of many varieties of trivial topics. Tom had a true passion for music. He was very involved in the music community, and enjoyed attending shows, supporting his favorite bands, and also had an impressive collection of records, a well known hobby of his as well collecting and building classic Vespas. Tom enjoyed watching sports, and could break down various sports statistically. He was a true Angeleno loving his Lakers and even more so his Dodgers. He and Gloria frequently attended Dodgers games in which they shared the love of the game. Tom especially enjoyed soccer, having growing up in an Italian household. Every 4 years was guaranteed an ITALIA fan club, even painting brother-in-law Angelo’s truck red, white and green for a number of World Cups. Tom loved to travel, visited most states when he took a road trip coast to coast through the states. He also traveled through Mexico for missionary work with his religious group, and most of all loved traveling to Italy, his family’s native home, visiting many family members. Tommaso was a great man, he was an amazing friend, and loving person, and will be greatly missed. He leaves behind friends and family all across the world. He is survived and remembered by his parents Angelo and Giovanna Damanti; his sisters Guiseppina (Angelo) Domicolo and Lucia (Robert) Ibelle; aunt Carmelina (Domenico) Cataudella; nieces and nephews Stephanie (Robert) Luera, Andrew Domicolo, James (Prisca)Ibelle, Codey, Kayden and Teagan Ibelle; cousins Santo (Maria), Angelo (Jennifer), Gianfranco (Amanda) Cataudella, Christine, Catherine, Christopher Damante; Great nieces and nephews Jacob and Jaxon Luera, Sora Ibelle; and the Love of his life, Gloria Guzman.
